Privacy Policy

Who we are

Tally Digital is a web design and digital solutions business based in Hamilton, New Zealand. We operate the website www.tallydigital.io (the “Site”).

What we collect and why

We only collect information that is necessary to provide our services and improve your experience on the Site.

Information you provide directly

  • Contact form — When you submit our project request form, we collect your name, email address, company name, and project details so we can respond to your enquiry.
  • Meeting scheduling — When you book a call through our Calendly integration, your name, email address, and chosen meeting time are collected by Calendly on our behalf.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) — We use Vercel Web Analytics, which collects anonymous, aggregated data only. This includes page views, referrer URLs, country, device type, browser, and operating system. It does not use cookies, does not collect personal identifiers, and cannot track you across websites. Session data is automatically discarded after 24 hours.
  • Google Analytics 4 — With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors interact with our Site. This collects page views, button clicks, scroll behaviour, referrer data, device type, browser, country, and general engagement metrics. Google Analytics uses cookies that are only set after you provide consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the Site.
  • Microsoft Clarity — With your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymised session replays and heatmaps. This helps us understand how visitors navigate the Site so we can improve the user experience. Clarity does not collect personally identifiable information.
  • Server logs — Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard request data including IP addresses and request timestamps for security and performance purposes.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your project enquiries and provide you with proposals
  • To schedule and conduct discovery calls
  • To understand how visitors use our Site so we can improve it
  • To maintain security and protect against misuse of the Site

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted services to operate the Site. Each has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data:

  • Vercel — Hosting and analytics. Vercel Privacy Policy
  • Google Analytics — Website analytics (consent-based). Data is processed by Google. Google Privacy Policy
  • Google Tag Manager — Tag management for analytics scripts. GTM itself does not collect personal data. GTM Use Policy
  • Microsoft Clarity — Session replay and heatmap analytics (consent-based). Microsoft Privacy Statement
  • Calendly — Meeting scheduling. When you book a call, Calendly acts as a data processor on our behalf. Calendly Privacy Notice
  • Sanity — Content management system for our website content. Sanity does not collect any data from Site visitors. Sanity Privacy Policy

Cookies

When you first visit our Site, we show a cookie consent banner. No analytics cookies are set until you choose to accept. If you decline, only strictly necessary cookies are used.

Cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary — Session management for content preview features. Always active.
  • Analytics (consent required) — Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) for measuring site usage. Set only after you accept. Expire after 2 years.
  • Session replay (consent required) — Microsoft Clarity cookies (_clck, _clsk) for anonymised session recordings. Set only after you accept.

Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies at all. We do not use any third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the Site. You will be shown the consent banner again.

Data retention

  • Contact form submissions — Retained for the duration of our business relationship or until you request deletion.
  • Analytics data — Vercel automatically discards session-level data after 24 hours. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Microsoft Clarity data is retained for 30 days. Aggregated, anonymous statistics are retained indefinitely.
  • Server logs — Retained by Vercel per their standard retention policy.

Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of any inaccurate personal information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your privacy has been interfered with

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you also have rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@tallydigital.io. We will respond within 20 working days as required by New Zealand law.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information. The Site is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Access to personal data is limited to authorised personnel. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data breach notification

In accordance with the Privacy Act 2020, if we become aware of a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as soon as practicable.

International visitors

Our Site is hosted on Vercel's global edge network. If you access the Site from outside New Zealand, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
